Stopped my hot flushes after black cohosh did nothing
I started getting hot flashes and night sweats two months ago. Black cohosh didn't make any difference even after weeks. I switched to Eluva, one in the morning and one at bedtime. Within two days my hot flushes stopped completely. I was getting 5–6 a day and 2–3 at night.
Can't recommend this to women enough
I started taking these for severe breast pain during perimenopause. I couldn't sleep, couldn't wear bras or even NOT wear bras. After a year I ran out and the pain came straight back — that's when I realised how much they'd helped. A lifesaver. I never want to go back.
My moods completely changed. I feel like me again.
Terrible mood swings, road rage, noises driving me insane. My coworkers thought I was losing it. I took one capsule that morning and haven't had a single rage episode since. I've told my whole family and ordered 5 more bottles. I never want to run out.
I feel like myself again. I don't write reviews — but this forced me to.
I turned 50 and was bombarded with hot flashes. Hormones weren't an option for me. 18 days into Eluva, my hot flashes have decreased substantially. I still have some, but nowhere near as frequent or severe. I don't look like someone threw a bucket of water on me anymore.
Moods lifted. Then my skin cleared up too.
I'd been in a terrible depression for months — it was perimenopause. Almost immediately my moods were consistently lighter, even through my period. The surprise was my skin: a dry patch on my hand healed and some cystic acne around my chin cleared. My skin just looks better.
Ran out for a few days. Never again.
About a year ago the perimenopause symptoms started. On my older sister's advice I began taking these. Then I ran out and didn't reorder in time. The night sweats came back with a vengeance. Never again. Thank God for these.
No more night sweats. And my hayfever vanished too?
I started Eluva for night sweats during perimenopause. It took about three weeks to kick in, then no more night sweats. The surprise: my hayfever disappeared too, after suffering since I was 10. Years later I tried stopping — no symptoms came back. Now I take one capsule a day.
Third bottle. Breast pain is gone.
I've tried other evening primrose supplements and had no results. These are different. I'm 49 and had breast pain from complex cysts for about 3 years. I take one a day and I no longer have sharp pains. This is my third bottle and my pain is gone.
Breast cancer survivor. HRT wasn't an option. This was.
As a breast cancer survivor, hot flashes were a difficult problem and HRT wasn't an option. A friend suggested evening primrose oil. Within two weeks the nightly rolling hot flushes stopped, and a month later I only have a few during the day, usually when I'm stressed. Nothing else worked.
Several hot flashes an hour. All day and night. Gone.
I was having several hot flashes an hour, day and night. I'd tried hormone balancing supplements — nothing worked. Eluva completely made them go away: noticeable in the first few days, none after a couple of weeks. My sleep problems vanished too. It's in my forever routine.
What happens when you actually stick with it
GLA doesn't work like paracetamol. It rebuilds what your body stopped producing. That takes time — but the women who give it 90 days are the ones who reorder.
Your body starts absorbing. You probably won't feel it yet.
Two capsules a day with food. GLA is building up in your cells. Most women feel nothing dramatic — and that's exactly how it should work. No loading phase, no jitters, no weird side effects.
- Easy to swallow, no aftertaste
- Take with breakfast and dinner
"My doctor recommended me to start taking this due to night sweats. She wrote down this exact one that she uses. I'm only on my second week and was told it takes about a month to start noticing a difference — but if my doctor uses it herself, I'm trying it."
Nights come first.
This is where most women notice something real. Fewer 3am wake-ups. Less waking up drenched. The hot flushes don't vanish overnight — but they get quieter.*
- Fewer hot flushes and night sweats*
- Sleep starts to feel like actual rest*
"I had horrible hot flashes every 30 minutes, day and night, for about 3 months. My life was miserable. Started taking these and it gradually got better. Within two weeks, I barely have any — and when I do, they're much milder. My life just got so much better."
Your cycle stops punishing you.
The week before your period stops feeling like a countdown to pain. Breast tenderness eases. Skin feels less tight after a shower. You stop reaching for the ibuprofen.*
- Less breast pain and swelling*
- Skin holds moisture, less itching*
"I couldn't sleep, couldn't wear bras, couldn't NOT wear bras. It was a rough time. After a year of taking these I hadn't felt pain in any form. When I ran out for a couple of months, the pain came straight back. That's when I realised how much they'd helped."
You notice when you skip it.
Hair and nails are slow movers — they come last. Less in the brush, fewer splits. But the real proof? Most women don't reorder because we remind them. They reorder because they ran out for a week and everything crept back.*
- Less shedding, new growth at the parting*
- This becomes your daily non-negotiable
"I ran out and didn't reorder in time. Within days the night sweats came back with a vengeance. Never again. I've ordered 5 more bottles — some for me, some to give to my sister."
Why women are switching to Eluva
HRT works for many women — but 23% in our research reported side effects they couldn't tolerate, and thousands can't access it at all. Menopause blends throw 20 ingredients at the wall and hope something sticks. Eluva does one thing well: it replaces the fatty acid your body stopped making.
- No GP gatekeeping — order it yourself, take it today.
- No hormones — safe alongside HRT or on its own.
- One root cause — GLA deficiency feeds hot flushes, breast pain, dry skin and thinning hair at once.
- Risk-free — 90 days to feel the difference or your money back.
Questions we actually get asked
How soon will I feel something?
Most women notice their nights improving around weeks 3–4 — fewer hot flushes, less waking up drenched. Breast comfort and skin improvements usually follow around weeks 6–8. Hair and nails take longest, typically from month 3 onwards. GLA builds up gradually in your body, which is why our guarantee covers the full 90 days.
Can I take Eluva with HRT?
Eluva is completely hormone-free, and many women take it alongside HRT for extra support — especially for symptoms HRT doesn't fully cover, like breast tenderness and dry skin. As with anything, check with your GP or pharmacist if you're unsure.
Why is this better than normal evening primrose oil?
Standard evening primrose oil is about 9% GLA. On its own, that's often not enough to make a noticeable difference — which is why so many women say "I tried primrose and it didn't work." Eluva combines evening primrose with starflower oil, which is 20–24% GLA — more than double. You get a meaningful dose in 2 capsules instead of needing 3–4.
Are there side effects?
Most women take Eluva with no issues at all. A small number notice mild stomach discomfort or a headache in the first week or two — taking capsules with food usually sorts it. If anything feels off, stop and speak to your GP.
Can I take it with other medication?
Speak to your GP or pharmacist first if you take blood thinners (warfarin, aspirin), anti-platelet drugs, epilepsy medication, or if you have a bleeding disorder or upcoming surgery. For most women on no specific medication, it's straightforward.
How do I take it?
2 capsules a day with food. One with breakfast, one with dinner. Easy to swallow, no aftertaste. Consistency matters more than timing — take it every day.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Email us within 90 days. Full refund. Empty bottles accepted. No forms, no awkward phone call.
Can I take it if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
We don't recommend Eluva during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor has specifically advised it.
